The 27th of August, Bank Holiday Monday, tens of thousands of people ventured to Micklegate York, to experience the annual Micklegate Soap Box Racing.
Over 40 teams took part in the race where they began from a steep ramp and travelled down the streets, over another smaller ramp towards the finishing line.
Each team had a chance to race twice and the best teams time won. This years winner was charity SASH York, with the cart designed by York Dungeon.
The event didn’t stop at the race as there were also fairground rides, food and drink stalls and a classic car show.

I am currently filming in England again in the wonderful Yorkshire. I was recently invited to film the Town Crier competition in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. A Town Crier is a very old tradition here in the UK, and it brought other Town Criers who also have the same tradition in their countries.

I have realised I haven’t updated anything recently on my News and Events Page. I have been filming and working in Catalonia for the last three months. I have even created a Catalan and Spanish special section on the website where I show you some great places to visit while you are on holiday here. These places include the beaches (of course) and the Catalan mountains which are absolutely stunning.

York Pride 2017 Parade marched through the streets of York at 12 pm today. Heading towards York Knavesmire for their celebrations, which is perfect for a family fun day out where there will be a fun fair and S Club will be performing along with lots of other great events.
Leaving from York Minster, they marched through Parliament Street heading over the bridge to High Ousegate to reach the final stop.
You could see how much support they all received from business to local residents and even Sir Ian McKellen showed his support.
You can see it was an amazing turnout for this event and will finish at 7pm leading to the after party where the celebration continues at Mansion in Micklegate.
