The last weekend in September York celebrated the York Balloon Fiesta for the second year. 90 hot air balloons were flying over York in all different shapes and sizes.
The event took place over three days and attracted 40.000 visitors. Lots of local food and drink stalls were involved in the event as well as a funfair, charity stalls, local radio Minster FM and live music as well.
The balloons took to the sky twice a day, one in the early morning and the second in the afternoon and the spectacular night glow on Friday and Saturday night with a firework display on the Saturday, which in my opinion were some of the most amazing fireworks I have seen and were shown as the balloons were displaying their show as well. Here is the video from the night glow…
It’s such a fun event to attend and it’s completly free and very family friendly. This is something I look forward to now every year and I cannot wait until next year to see what they have in store.
