I just love going to little towns in North Yorkshire. And I took a recent visit to Helmsley to see what this market town was all about and it didn’t fail to disappoint.
Seeing the magnificent ruins of Helmsley Castle and the community, the town and their local shops and pubs, this is definitely worth the visit.
Thousands of visitors come here every year and enjoy the country walks. Only a short drive from York’s town centre, parking near the castle is available which leads to different walking routes around the town, and even a long route to the coast.
Other places to visit are Duncombe Park, the Nation Centre for Bird of Prey and Helmsley Arts Centre, enabling you to make a full day of activities in Helmsley.
