Just so slightly away from the busy York city centre, sits Rowntrees Park. Given to the public, this park has many things to do here. It has been awarded a green flag award every year since 2014 and is looked after by the friends of Rowntrees Park.
The park has lots of quirky features around every corner, including sculptures of roman helmets. You can walk along the pond or walk through the park and see their many facilities they offer.
When reaching the end of the park you will be able to see Millennium Bridge which takes you to the other side of the river. There are also river walks that eventually takes you to the next village. You might be able to spot the local wildlife on the way including the local Otters.
